A 500 square foot Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) located
in Ballard. The project goal was to create a building that could
interact with the existing residence yet still create space and
privacy for the two separate building occupants. Siting the two buildings
kitty-corner from one another on the site as well as minimizing
penetrations on the wall of the DADU facing the existing residence allows
the DADU to freely open it's living space to the garden and maintains the existing
home's access to the garden and yard space.
